WWW Wednesday

Happy Wednesday y’all! I haven’t done one of these in a few weeks so I thought I’d drop one on ya really fast, here we go.

All book covers lead to Goodreads, you know the drill

What I recently finished reading:

  • New Orleans Rush by Kelly Siskind was an ARC I recently finished and you can find all of my thoughts on it here✨ I hope you find Beatrice and Huxley’s relationship as endearing as I did.
  • Can’t Escape Love by Alyssa Cole is a novella that came out last month that I neglected for literally no other reason due to my mental health being trash but I just finished it today and holy sh*t. It was the Sleeping Beauty retelling that I needed. Alyssa also came through with some great disability and autism rep. Shoutout to the recent #AutismAwarenessDay 🧩 Review To Come

What I’m currently reading:

  • Rebel by Beverly Jenkins is showing me that historical fiction and romance DO belong together; and so does handsome and brave Drake LeVeq & his lovely Valinda Lacey. Let me just say that if I were ever waiting on a war hero to come home…it would be him 100%
  • The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang is my Lit Coven read for the month and I’m picking it up as soon as I get done typing this bad boy out. I haven’t read an adult fantasy in many a moon so we’ll see what comes out of it. Fingers crossed loves.

What I’m reading next:

  • Once and Future by Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy is a book I picked up on a whim today. I saw that it was out in my local bookstore and I knew that it had asexual representation so of course seeing myself represented in a main character when there’s usually none made my heart sing. I cannot wait to pick it up and that freaking cover, my Gods.
  • Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan has been on my mildly anticipated release list simply because everyone is loving it or at least loving the characters and atmosphere of the story and my emotional and ‘lover of all things gothic’ self is always here for a good old love triangle in a Slavic setting that has a dark feeling to it.

A book I want to sneak in for fun:

  • Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds was a release that snuck up on me and once I heard the premise I had to have it. The cover also feels really good? Is that weird? But people of color, time warps, and existentialism? Come at me bro. Can’t wait to pick this read up.

  • Thank you so much for reading
